SUNY Business Intelligence Introductory Analysis Training for IR and Other Professionals (Finance Data)
Course Description
The half day training for those interested in finance data will enable participants to create and share reports using the SUNY BI platform. Attendees will create custom data extracts from data from the SUNY Finance system. An online training manual will be provided. Participants will learn how to create data queries and to share the results of those queries with others. The session will include information on the SUNY System Administration Finance Data Warehouse, but the skills learned will be transferable to other SUNY BI data sets. Please note that this workshop is for State Operated campuses only.
This course consists of live instruction via Zoom and hands-on training from System Administration staff. Completion of one of these trainings is strongly advised prior to creating custom queries in the SUNY System Administration Data Warehouse.

COURSE INSTRUCTOR
Jeanne Ball
Jeanne Ball started using Oracle Business Intelligence in 2014 when she joined the Binghamton University budget office as an analyst. Prior to joining the University, she had 15 years of database experience using Microsoft Access in the actuarial department of a life insurance company. During her time in the budget office, she became a valuable BI resource by creating customized financial analysis reports and dashboards for the University and assisting others with BI analysis. In 2022, Jeanne moved to the position of Associate Director of Finance for the Libraries at BU. Even with the change in position, she continues to use BI analysis extensively, and to aid others who need help. She is excited for the opportunity to help others across SUNY with creating custom financial BI reports.
Jeanne has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a minor in English from College Misericordia (now Misericordia University). In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, crafting, walking, and cheering for the Yankees.
