Through a partnership with The NYS Forum, the SUNY Center for Professional Development (CPD) is excited to offer our Technical Points Members the ability to use CPD Technical Points to pay for all NYS Forum Academy training classes.

These courses are designed to meet the evolving technical and professional needs of New York State agencies and higher education institutions — offering practical, real-world learning in areas like business analysis, agile practices, leadership, AI applications, and DevOps.

By using CPD Technical Points, campuses can access high-quality instruction without impacting existing budgets, making this partnership a cost-effective way to support ongoing professional development.


Eligibility / Who Can Use It

This opportunity is open to:

  • CPD Technical Points Member campuses

  • Faculty, staff, or IT professionals employed at SUNY institutions

If your campus is both a SUNY CPD Technical Member and a NYS Forum participant, you can take advantage of the streamlined registration and payment process using CPD Technical Points.

How CPD Technical Points Work

  1. Browse the NYS Forum Academy course calendar to find upcoming sessions.

  2. Identify the class (or classes) you’d like to take.

  3. Contact SUNY CPD to register and indicate you’ll be using CPD Technical Points for payment.

  4. CPD will coordinate with The NYS Forum to process your registration.

Using CPD Technical Points allows campuses to:

  • Access professional training without direct billing

  • Save time and reduce purchasing paperwork

  • Invest in staff development year-round

How to Register

Registration varies based on your organization type:

SUNY & Higher Education Participants: Contact SUNY CPD to register and use your CPD Technical Points.

NYS ITS Employees: Email ITSTraining@its.ny.gov with your class request.

Other NY Government Employees: Have your supervisor or purchasing department email cremmert@nysforum.org to complete registration.

Please note the NYS Forum’s cancellation policy: requests must be made at least three business days before the course start date.
