SUNY Faculty Development Community of Practice Fall 2023 Regional Meetings

The purpose of these meetings is to bring together those who are involved with supporting teaching and learning and faculty/staff development efforts throughout the system. The meetings will be highly interactive with participants leaving with concrete and practical ideas they can implement on their campus right away.

The fall 2023 meetings will focus on problem solving and resource sharing in two faculty development areas:

Artificial Intelligence in Teaching and Learning
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Social Justice (Inclusive Teaching & Curriculum, Equity in Assessment & Learning Outcomes)

Participants will leave the meeting with an action plan for applying what they learn on their campus in one or both of these areas.

Goals:

Create regional networks of SUNY colleagues who are involved in faculty development / teaching and learning efforts and identify ways to sustain these networks
Create a foundation for collaborating on regional and system-wide faculty development initiatives
Create awareness of and disseminate research-based faculty development best practices on SUNY campuses
Inform participants about the many excellent faculty development opportunities and efforts both system-wide and on SUNY campuses.

Who should attend:

Faculty developers, faculty or staff from centers for teaching and learning, teaching, learning, and technology centers, and/or librarians, instructional designers, or other staff who are involved with supporting faculty in their instructional development.

Meeting Dates and Locations

The SUNY Faculty Development Community of Practice meeting will be offered in three different locations. All of the meetings will have the same agenda. Please pick the one location most convenient for you.
