Evaluating VPATs and ACRs for Informed Accessibility Decisions
This FREE advanced professional development series is designed for individuals involved in reviewing digital products, evaluating accessibility documentation, and supporting procurement decisions. Participants will gain practical strategies for interpreting VPATs and Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs), assessing accessibility risks, and communicating effectively with vendors and campus stakeholders.
Note: This advanced training is intended for participants with prior experience or familiarity with the VPAT/ACR process and is not an introductory course.
Delivery Method:
Hybrid delivery through Brightspace and Zoom, combining a self-paced Brightspace course with three live webinar sessions.
The course will take approximately 6-10 total hours to complete (including time spent in webinars).
Course Completion Requirements:
To earn the digital Credly Badge for this offering, participants must attend all 3 webinars live and complete the associated activities within each of the three (3) modules in Brightspace.
Participants who are unable to meet these requirements but are interested in earning the badge will have future opportunities to do so.

Meet the Instructors
Jay Harwood (he/him) is the Electronic Information Technology (EIT) Accessibility Officer for the State University of New York at Brockport, where he coordinates efforts for enhancing accessibility in the University’s digital spaces in partnership with campus stakeholders. He is also an Assistive Technology Specialist for Student Accessibility Services at Brockport and provides direct support to students with disabilities. Jay holds a master’s degree from Nazareth University in Higher Education Student Affairs Administration with special concentration in Strategic Talent Development and Coaching. He has been working in accessibility in higher education for over ten years.
