along with the Cavalry Group
Information Assurance & Security in 2007
This session will focus upon security risk assessments and will be divided into three parts.
The first part will feature Dr. Charles D. Fletcher, Jr., CIO of St. John Fisher College, who will discuss engaging campus leadership, management approaches and the security framework within the context of the risk assessment process that has and is being conducted at St. John Fisher College.
In the second part, Ken Major from the Cavalry Group, who collaborated on the process at St. John Fisher, will draw attention to some key elements of the risk assessment process.
The third part will be a panel discussion on security issues that will include Dr. Fletcher, Ken Major and Ted Phelps, SUNY's Chief Security Officer.
Dr. Fletcher has over thirty-four years experience in the technology industry. Charles was responsible for the providing the leadership for the initial installation of the University ERP software: SCT/Banner at Delaware State University from 1993-1996; The first campus-wide PBX system, Siemens HiCom 300 system for 650 faculty & staff and 450 off-campus resident students; The Siemens HiPath 4000 system for 1,400 on-campus students; and the HiPath 5000 VOIP system; and the University Smartcard from Siemens deployed to all faculty, staff, and students that provide the combination of physical security and information security (Identity Management) using the Siemens Meta-Directory System. During the 2004 to 2006 period Dr. Fletcher served the Siemens One Corporation as an Educational Consultant for the Colleges and University Market providing leadership in developing the �Digital Campus� concept to improve technology innovation in information management and campus security management to HBCU institutions across the United States.
Dr. Fletcher is the 2003-award winner of Computer World Premier Top 100 Award for Technology Leadership and the 2003-2004 InfoWorld 100 IT Visionaries Awards for innovative technology leadership.
